  • - Notes taken in class should be considered ‘personal communication’. Do not include an entry in the reference list.
  • - This format can be used if you are citing a set of notes from a lecture (e.g. power point slides provided by your lecturer or tutor).

Author Surname, First Initial. Second Initial. (Year, Month, Day). Title [Lecture notes Course Name]. University, City, Country.

Online

Author Surname, First Initial. Second Initial. (Year). Title [PowerPoint slides]. University. URL

 Reference list examples

 In-text citation (lecture notes - print):

  • - If a lecturer provides material in a class from other authors, then you reference the authors and not the lecturer.
